Many substations are reaching the age of needing repairs or modifications to stay current with today's energy demands. Substations that were built 50 years ago may not have drawings available to use to make these changes. TruePoint uses laser scan technology to capture point cloud data of existing brownfield structures with great precision. Clients can extract dimensions and measurements from the point cloud data and create 3D models to aid in changes to the site. DIS-TRAN uses laser scan technology to verify their 3D model and prefabricate parts; ensuring proper fit, mitigating errors, and reducing costs, on-site construction time and field delays.
